Extract from the Minute of the Executive Council dated 19th.October, 1899.

"The P.M.G. and Mr. Barron the Superintendent

of the Registration Department of the G.P.0. having been

summoned before the Council the Colonial Secretary read

the charges and Mr. Barron's replies thereto. The charges were

considered separately. Upon the withdrawal of the Post-

master General and Mr.Barron, it was advised by the

Council that Mr.Barron should be informed that he had

been guilty of neglect of duty, that he should be severely

reprimanded and that he should be debarred from any

increase of salary until the Head of his Department, should

report favourably of his conduct."
